Among the advanced biofuels studied in the BioValue Project, Green Diesel, obtained as a co-product of Aviation Biokerosene through Fischer-Tropsch and co-processing of bio-oil routes in FCC units routes, is of great importance for replacing fossil diesel produced in petroleum refineries. The standardization of Green Diesel, therefore, is one of the study objects of the Project.<\/p>\n

On May 17, 2021, Resolution ANP No. 842<\/a><\/strong>, of May 14, 2021, was published in the Official Dairy, establishing the Green Diesel specification. The Resolution covers the Green Diesel produced from the following routes and raw materials: (I) hydrotreatment of vegetable oil (in natura or residual), algae oil, microalgae oil, animal fat and fatty acids from biomass, as well as hydrocarbons bioderived by Botryococcus braunii microalgae; (II) synthesis gas from biomass, via Fischer-Tropsch process; (III) fermentation of carbohydrates present in biomass; (IV) oligomerization of ethyl alcohol (ethanol) or isobutyl alcohol (isobutanol) and (V) catalytic hydrothermolysis of vegetable oil (in natura or residual), algae oil, microalgae oil, animal fat and biomass fatty acids.<\/p>\n

The Green Diesel specification Tables containing the biofuel’s characteristics, the unit of measurement, the limit set for each characteristic and the methods on which the specifications are based can be found in Resolution ANP No. 842<\/a><\/strong>, published in the Official Dairy of the Union.<\/p>\n
