Events & Conferences

High-class seminars and events promoted by LNBR focus on bringing speakers with different backgrounds, from top companies, universities, and national laboratories around the world to share their experiences.

A series of workshops to face biotech challenges

In 2018 we started a series of workshops entitled Industrial Biotechnology and Synthetic Biology. We believe that biotechnology is one of the most promising ways to address global issues and we invite you to solve the problems of tomorrow, together

ENZITEC – Enzymes and Microbial Platforms

The diversity of life on earth arose from a plethora of chemical reactions finely orchestrated by enzymes. The understanding of nature´s repertoire is still in its infancy, but growing exponentially with the blow of omics data and the advances to understand how enzymes work

INDUSTRIAL BIOTECHNOLOGY AND SYNTHETIC BIOLOGY
Enzyme Discovery and Design
1st semester of 2021

The magnificent diversity of life on earth arose from a plethora of chemical reactions finely orchestrated by enzymes. The understanding of nature´s repertoire for accelerating or controlling chemical reactions, including the origins and principles of biocatalysis, is still at its infancy, but growing exponentially with the blow of omics data.

INDUSTRIAL BIOTECHNOLOGY AND SYNTHETIC BIOLOGY
Strain Engineering
2nd semester of 2021

The magnificent diversity of life on earth arose from a plethora of chemical reactions finely orchestrated by enzymes. The understanding of nature´s repertoire for accelerating or controlling chemical reactions, including the origins and principles of biocatalysis, is still at its infancy, but growing exponentially with the blow of omics data.

Previous events

INDUSTRIAL BIOTECHNOLOGY AND SYNTHETIC BIOLOGY
Sustainable Chemicals and Fuels
May 28th– 30th, 2019
The continued use of fossil fuels is no longer tenable. A finite resource, their extraction, processing and exploitation results in environmental pollution and increased greenhouse gas emissions. The challenge is to identify sustainable and cleaner processes for chemical, fuel and food production, reducing GHG emissions, in particular CO2.

INDUSTRIAL BIOTECHNOLOGY AND SYNTHETIC BIOLOGY
Valorization of Renewable Resources
March 9th, 2018
This edition addressed novel strategies for the application of biocatalysts, including combined catalytic processes, enzyme cascade reactions, as well as it brought ideas and novel concepts in electro and chemo-catalysis, in particular, the development of catalyst materials and chemical routes for biomass processing and production of chemicals.

BIOETHANOL
Workshop on 2nd Generation Bioethanol
2010 – 2017
LNBR held seven editions of the Workshop on Second Generation Bioethanol and Biorefinery. Over seven years, this workshop gathered more than seven hundred participants represented by a highly qualified audience of researchers and industry professionals, university professors and graduate students.
