Technological routes

Analysis of thermochemical and biochemical technological routes, as well as the integration of both routes to improve the economic, environmental and social results of advanced biofuels production chains.

Thermochemical Routes

Thermochemical processes are characterized by the conversion of one molecule to another, through the action of pressure, temperature and chemical agents, providing breaking and formation of chemical bonds.

Biochemical Routes

Several technological routes for the production of advanced biofuels from lignocellulosic materials are based on biochemical processes, conversion processes that utilize microorganisms or enzymes as catalysts.

Integrated Routes

The biofuels and other bioproducts production from lignocellulosic materials – consisting of cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin – are performed traditionally using two distinct platforms, the biochemical and thermochemical platforms. Discover the integrated routes.
