Development of research and sustainability assessments for advanced biofuels production, with emphasis on jet fuel and other renewable biofuels.

Biofuels and Aviation Biokerosene

Aviation Biokerosene is the advanced biofuel to be preferably obtained, through technological routes of biomass conversion studied and evaluated in the BioValue Project. The standardization of these biofuels is one of the objects of study of the Project.

Green Diesel

Among the advanced biofuels studied in the BioValue Project, Green Diesel, obtained as a co-product of Aviation Biokerosene through Fischer-Tropsch and co-processing of bio-oil in FCC units routes, is of great importance for replacing fossil diesel produced in oil refineries.

Green Gasoline

Among the advanced biofuels studied in the BioValue Project, Green Gasoline, obtained as a co-product of Aviation Biokerosene through the Fischer-Tropsch and bio-oil co-processing in FCC units routes, is also valued in the production chain assessment.

Biomethane

In the BioValue project, the main interest is on biomethane from biogas obtained from the anaerobic biodigestion of organic waste in biorefineries. However, biogas can also be produced in landfills and sewage treatment plants, as well as in digesters operating with animal waste.

Other Biofuels

Among the advanced biofuels studied in the BioValue Project, the theoretical study related to obtain Marine Biokerosene through bio-oil stabilization routes is included; the bio-oil is obtained from the fast pyrolysis of the biomasses studied in the Project.
